JOB SUMMARY
This Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) project focused on resurfacing 9.5 miles of roadway across Shelby County. The work included improvements along Aiken Road (KY 362) from the Jefferson County line to Webb Road, Floydsburg Road (KY 1408) from the Jefferson County line to Aiken Road, and Lucas Road (KY 322) from KY 53 to KY 22. In total, more than 8,000 tons of asphalt were placed to enhance the durability, safety, and smoothness of these key routes.
CHALLENGES:
Working on state highways presents unique challenges, particularly with high-speed traffic. Ensuring a safe work zone is critical, not only for our crews but also for the traveling public. By installing proper warning signage well in advance of the work zone, we help protect motorists while delivering roadway improvements for the State of Kentucky.
